Just when you think you’ve seen it all in the world of crochet, something new crops up that leaves you amazed… Temperature blankets are currently that thing.
If you haven’t heard of them, they are taking the crochet community by storm because they are visually stunning and take 365 days to produce. A temperature blanket is a blanket with multicolour rows, each colour signifying the temperature colour of each day of the year.
The trend has now become internationally famous thanks to a lady who brought hers onto an American news show. It’s quite a remarkable sight, with her unique blanket representing the weather in the area of Grand Rapids in the US. The first third of the blanket contains mostly blues and greens for the cooler weather of the beginning of 2016, while the reds and oranges in the middle signify the summer months.
Is this a challenge you would take on? Aside from being a great talking point for people that come to your house, the year that you choose to focus on could signify an important time in your life such as your first year of marriage, or the first year of your child’s life.
