Although it’s hard to believe, it’s already that time of the year where you have to start thinking about what to knit for Christmas! If you like to knit or crochet gifts for people, this is the time to start. We know you’re not in the festive mood yet, but it’s best to get it done in advance rather than wait until November and have to rush to get it all done.
Don’t worry we’ve got you covered with these sweet Christmas creations to give you some ideas…
In our Christmas special we featured a beautiful advent calendar that you can make for your family. It’s a lovely project to undertake because it’s so satisfying to see it completed and getting used every Christmas!
Baubles make fab gifts… You can make one for each friend or family member, or make several for one person! Either way the recipient is sure to love these handmade decorations that will make their tree unique. Our pattern shows them in festive colours, but you could of course personalise them by making them in any colours your recipient would like!
If you want an even bigger project but one that a lucky person is going to value, why not knit a wonderfully warm jumper? In issue 34 we featured a crew neck sweater, made with our CreaCrafts yarn, in a beautifully simple grey (Harmony in Basalt). It could also be made for a man (just adjust the measurements), and would certainly make a change from the usual packs of socks and cologne…
Not forgetting the trusty gloves, scarves and hats, there are several of these patterns in our Knit and Stitch series. Our favourites are the snug cowl from issue six, the pull-on hat from issue 12 and the pretty mitts from issue 30. We can’t think of anyone who gets sick of receiving handmade winter warmers! These are great ones to make if you want to customise or personalise something, because you can add pompoms, sequins or buttons.
Now you have some ideas, we hope you’ll get started soon as we’d love to see your creations! Show us via our Facebook page, and don’t forget you can purchase more CreaCrafts yarn on our shop.
