It’s that time where everyone in the office gathers around a hat and pulls out a name, wondering what on earth they are going to buy as a secret Santa gift… especially when you get given that person you have merely said polite hellos to!

So you’re not sure what they want, or what they even like, but everyone loves handmade items. Why not knit them a little something, that won’t take too long to make, but will be a very sweet gift.

Here are some ideas…

Mug Wrap

Mug wraps are quick and simple to make and a great way to use up the odds and ends of yarn in your stash. If you’d like to try our version with the monogram detail, look for the pattern in issue 29 of Knit & Stitch Creative.

Phone case

Everyone will use a phone case! You could make it any colour you like, maybe choose one depending on whether it’s for a male or female, and you can add charms to it too.

Cord tidy

Always handy for things like charger cables, this cord tidy will surely be appreciated! It’s also something different to the usual secret Santa gift.

Glasses case

If your chosen gift receiver wears glasses, what a perfect present! They will appreciate that it’s handmade by you and they will (hopefully) never lose their specs again!

This pretty purse is perfect for loose change or even tissues and other stray items in a bag. If you want to add a ribbon to it like the one here, go to Knit & Stitch Creative issue 15.

We’re sure that when you give your colleague or friend one of these, they will be overjoyed to be given something that so much thought was put into.

Merry Christmas! And don’t forget to show us your creations via Facebook or Instagram!
